So...
It's been five and a half months since I last posted. A very long time for a lull, I know... But it's been a tired five and a half months.
A recap:
Work - Worked on and finished several software development tasks, one including a website interfacing with a database for a winery that netted me about 900 dollars in wine on top of my normal pay. Gotta love knowing the owners of a winery. ;)
Home - The new roof has held tight through last winter and the summer. After the heat we got this year it should be nice and secure.
Love - Met several women, explained that I was not ready for a serious commitment at the moment and that it would be a while before I was ready for a "relationship" and that someday I would be able to. All of them accepted it; however, one of them decided that while she would tell me that she was ok with that she became VERY emotionally attached. It became overwhelming and I had to back off. She's still a very wonderful woman who means a lot to me, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to handle the kind of attention she wishes to provide.
Well, this has been sitting here for several hours while I've been at work, so I guess it's time to shut up for now!
Take care,
B

[Life] Sleepy in Chicago - Day 4
So training is now done and I have a day to myself. It's times like these that I'd love to have a partner with me to experience the city with. I suppose that will come in time, but I won't be here forever! lol
Anyways, I'm just keeping my spirits up. I've had a really good week thus far and am looking forward to seeing my family once I fly home... then it'll only be a few more days and I'll be able to see my babies again (my dogs). I miss them dearly, even if they're little turds sometimes. :)
That's it for now.
Take care,
B

[Life] Sleepy in Chicago - Day 1
So it's the end of Day 1 of training in Chicago and I have to say I'm pleased with how it went. It's been a long time since I've been in this kind of environment, and I have to say I miss it. Perhaps I should have become a teacher... I really like the class environment.
Not that many read this thing, but I figure I'll at least put down a little information each day and who knows, maybe it'll become more frequent than the once a week I was doing before my hiatus.
Until tomorrow... remember, if it's not big enough to change your life, it's not big enough to stress about.
Take care,
B

[Science & Technology] Soda Cell Phone Frenzy
Ok, so something I have been looking for a while and figured I'd mention now that I'm active again is a really cool trinket that's being done with the help of a fantastic invention called the bio-battery. It's pretty amazing.
Here's a link to a cell phone that actually runs on soda:

[Science & Technology] I love the way that bra wraps nicely around your sweet, soft... power plant?
Definitely got your attention with that one, I can tell. It's been a while since I was around (hectic life right now!), but I saw something I thought had to be shared... It's pretty awesome!
So apparently they have these new silicone implants... that generate electricity. Yes, that's right... Just by them being squished, played with or just bouncing while walking they can provide electricity to devices either within the body (like a pacemaker). I imagine that they'll figure out a way to put a "pad" somewhere on the body to charge other items with the stored energy as well... It's only a matter of time. For those of you who don't know what I mean by a "pad", just take a look at some online stores for a cellphone recharge pad to get an idea of what I'm talking about. This is the beginning of the technological merger between human and machine, I swear... Sure, we had tech parts implanted in our bodies before, but now we can power them... And the fact that we can power them means we can have things that assist us in whatever we may be doing. Optical implant with 40x zoom? It's only a matter of getting the tech to communicate with our optic nerve and we're there... And now it's powered.

[Science & Nature] Plan...imals?
Something has been discovered recently that is super awesome... An animal that has absorbed so much plant DNA that it has literally acquired some of the plant's abilities. Mainly: Chlorophyll. That's right. The animal can create chlorophyll, which we know allows the being to turn sunlight into energy. BIOLOGICAL SOLAR PANELS. Amazing... This is quite the breakthrough in evolution, and I'm very excited to learn more about it.
